Panda Exhibit at Adelaide Zoo

The Panda Exhibit at the Adelaide Zoo has stolen the limelight and these monochrome creatures have garnered many fans since their arrival in 2008. I am a sucker for a cute animal and these amazing Chinese natives well and truly lived up to my expectations. This is the only place in the Southern Hemisphere where you can catch a glimpse of the endangered giant pandas. The zoo has two resident pandas, Wang Wang and Funi, which were entrusted to the zoo by the Chinese government. It is hoped that they may produce little Wang Wangs and Funis in the future as they are part of the international panda breeding program.

Funi is much like human teenage boys, he loves his sleep and food. It is too cute to see him laid out on his back munching on tasty bamboo stalks. Wang Wang is the live wire of the pair often scooting around the enclosure. Tickets to the Panda Exhibit at the zoo are separate to the regular Adelaide Zoo admission, but they are well worth it as you will fall in love with these creatures. It is also a really valuable educational experience for children and will highlight the importance of environmental and habitat protection for them. You can also book your time slot to see the pandas online, this will avoid any disappointment as they are zoo celebrities and in demand.
