The Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam is located in the house that acted as the hiding place for the Frank family throughout the Second World War. You can see the annex where the family were holed up hiding from the Nazis and where Anne wrote her famous diary. It is an important site to visit in order to get a real appreciation for how life was under the Nazis and the impact that the war had on Europe. The museum has now been open for more than 50 years and welcomes around a million visitors each year – it is located on Prinsengracht 267 in Amsterdam.
