Arabella Golf Club

Cape Town, South Africa

In the small town of Kleinmond just an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the picturesque Arabella Golf Course is surrounded by magnificent mountains and built on the edge of the Bot River Lagoon. This wetland is home to thousands of indigenous waterfowl and the flamingo, regularly seen from the course, is the clubs emblem. The championship course has consistently been ranked in the top 10 courses in South Africa. The course is diverse with links, parklands and coastal aspects within its design and wind is often a factor in club selection. Features of the layout are its wide fairways, seventy-odd bunkers and plenty of water in play.

Both nines conclude with spectacular stretches along the lagoon, the 8th and 18th being rated as two of the finest holes in the country.  The par five 8th plays from a high tee and offers a wonderful sights of the scenic surrounds, but creates a blind tee shot providing little view of the wide sloping fairway which runs severely downhill from the tee. The fairway flattens out after the initial dip using a long stretch of bunkers and water on the left and trees on the right to make this a challenging long hole.
