  1. Australia Zoo 5 out of 5

This is my local zoo. Do I recommend to my visitors, yes I do. Why.. because there is a bus each day from Noosa to Australia Zoo and I know they will be gone all day. Well that is part of the reason but I do realise they will come back so I am sure they will enjoy the day.

This is a zoo that locals know a lot about, it is a big employer, Terri and the kids can be seen on the Sunshine Coast and images for Steve Irwin we pass each time we drive to Brisbane and so always reminded of the tragedy.

I was lucky enough to see Steve with the crocodile show and was impressed, but I have been since and the crocodile shows are still very good.

When I first went 10 years ago the show was held around small crocodile enclosures and now are in a big auditorium and has a lot more than crocodiles and includes many other animal shows.

The zoo is always expanding and has many species and so makes for a good day out.

If on the Sunshine Coast do visit, if in Brisbane easy to reach by train or with the Australia Zoo bus.

I have been to Australia Zoo several times and have never been disappointed, each time I visit there is something new to see and is always improving its facilities.

There is so much to see and do at Australia Zoo, it takes quite a while to get around all different enclosures. If visiting make sure to get your photo with a koala and check out some of the shows and if your lucky Terri Irwin and the kids might be taking part.

A very easy attraction to reach with their zoo buses which will pick you up from many locations on the Sunshine Coast.

The 'Crocoseum' is a huge 5000 seat arena to watch the entertaining crocodile shows. I was lucky enough to watch the Dalia Lama talk about kindness to animals in the stadium. The Irwin's are all about conservation and helping the Australian wildlife with their Wildlife Warriors and the zoo certainly encourages its visitors to care for the environment.

Only down side is that it can be rather crowded at times so try and pick a quiet day to visit.

Well worth the trip if you want a fun day out.

  3. Great Zoo For Everyone

Australia Zoo in Beerwah has to be one of the best zoos in the world. There is plenty to see and do for everyone. Of course the crocodile shows are a great attraction but the kids will also love the farm animals that they can touch & feed.

Australia Zoo is one of the best places to go if you really want that photo with a koala as well as many other Australian animals like kangaroos & wallabys.

There are many ways to get to Australia Zoo but one of the easiest has to be on the bus that Australia Zoo operates from the Sunshine Coast. If you are on holidays on the Sunshine Coast just ask your local tourist office or the hotel where you are staying. They will be happy to tell you all about it.

Our family had a great day out when we visted Australia Zoo whilst we were on holiday in Noosa last year.

  4. Best local attraction

Australia Zoo is a place I take all of my overseas visitors to see, often at their own request! A fab day out, loads to see and do, well planned, great croc shows, souvenir shops, food outlets, and so on. Where else this close to a major city (Brisbane) could you get the chance to hold a baby crocodile?! :D

To visit was not on our agenda as we are not zoo people. Staying on the Sunshine Coast we noticed one morning the Australia Zoo bus and of course we did know of the sad story. So we decided the next day to take the bus and visit. And was worth it. The highlight being the crocodile show which is very touristy but fun to watch. The weather was perfect and I guess that helped.
