Battery Point

Battery Point

Hobart, Tasmania, Australia

Battery Point would have to be one of Hobart’s most historical suburbs. Located just a short walk from the waterfront Battery Point is still the Cornish Fishing Village it has been for the last century as it was home for the mariners who worked at Hobart Town.

See Arthurs Circus which is a ring of old cottages that surround the village. Visit the tearooms, antique shops, restaurants and pubs in the area.

Several museums are in the area such as Secheron, the Tasmanian Maritime Museum and Narranya, the Colonial Museum with both having some great exhibits from bygone days.

Another place of interest is St George’s Anglican Church which was built around 1836. Ideal way to spend a few hours.
