The Bedford Museum & Art Gallery comprises the Bedford Museum, Cecil Higgins Gallery and the Bedford Gallery and is situated within the gardens of the Bedford Castle mound. The museum first opened in 1982 and offers a number of Palaeolithic tools and Medieval artefacts as well as a collection of watercolours, prints and furniture. The original Bedford Gallery was first built in the 1840s and the current museum stands on its site. Reviewer: Adam Croft
