Bobbejaanland, in Lichtaart, Belgium, was founded by Bobbejaan Schoepen, hence the name. This man was an internationally popular entertainer during the fifties and sixties.
In addition to the roller coasters, one of the highlights at Bobbejaanland are the thrill rides, which are unique. Take the Sledgehammer, for example, this ride swings you in a massive arch while spinning you around at the same time. Also, there is the Aztek Express. Known in the industry as a Mexican carousel, this ride travels at varying speeds both forwards and backwards. The light show it creates is nothing short of spectacular. For that reason, it is great at night.
There are some family-friendly rides as well, together with a line-up of Las Vegas quality shows. These shows are performed in the park’s Star Theater. Most shows generally have limited runs and they change quite often. In order to find out what show will be playing during your visit, it is best to contact the park ahead of time.
