Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia

User Rating     : 3 out of 5

Probably one of the biggest attractions in Australia is the one kilometre beach known as one of the best beaches in the world. Added to the Australia National Heritage list in 2008, Surf Life Saving has issued different hazard rating for different areas with south Bondi being most hazardous and best for surfboard riding whilst the northern end is much safer and more family orientated. Swimming between the flags is advised for all levels of swimmers right along the beach. A promenade the length of the beach is a boon for visitors and there are cafes, restaurants, fast food outlets and plenty of shopping along beach-front as well as the famous Bondi Hotel.

Bondi Beach conjures up some classic images which made me wonder if I was in the right place. It’s nice, but it’s not beautiful, I suppose that’s because of the shops and houses nearby, it’s a city what should I have expected. None the less it was a photo opportunity, and I still have the sand which ended up in the pockets of my board shorts.
