California’s Great America in Santa Clara has some stiff competition nearby, but it is the only park in its area with a water park inside; not adjacent, inside! Also inside are some amazing thrill and family rides.
One of the thrill rides is called FireFall. First you are lifted 18 metres (60 feet) into the air, then you plummet through several 360 degree vertical arcs, as you spin, turn and twist through a series of spellbinding water and fire effects!
One of the family rides is called Psycho Mouse. Think of it as a wild-mouse type of attraction, but on steroids!
The live show offerings at California’s Great America are particularly high in production value. For example, Don’t Stop the Music features some amazingly talented dancers taking a trip through time, as they demonstrate dance and music styles from across the past three decades. What is more, the cast really aims to get the crowd dancing with them … and they usually succeed!
Another great show here is the Backyard Circus, in which kids get involved in the show in surprising ways, under the direction of the ring master.
