Carowinds, in North Carolina, is known as a great park to visit if you enjoy thrill rides. There are other types of experiences as well, but the thrill rides are definitely the main attractions here. In fact, the park’s motto states that Carowinds is “the thrill capital of the Southeast”. Among the other types of experiences is a water park called Boomerang Bay, which is included with the price of admission. The water park features lots of tube slides and children’s areas. There is also a wave pool and a lazy river that winds its way in and out of two states (North and South Carolina).
There are a number of live shows in this theme park. Many of them feature characters from cartoonist Charles Schultz’s famous Peanuts comic strip. As fun as these shows are, the real draw at Carowinds is the thrill rides. In fact, there are no less than 13 roller coasters in this one park alone! The newest of these roller coasters is called the Intimidator. It is the tallest, longest and fastest roller coaster in the southeast of America.
