Pebble Beach, California, United States of America
Pebble Beach is famous for more than just the course that carries its name; Cypress Point is consistently named in the top courses in the world every year and is often higher ranked than its more commercial, better known brother. Like Pebble Beach Golf Links, this course is world famous for a string of holes which have the Pacific Ocean in play for any stray shots. Back to back short holes, the 15th, 16th and 17th holes regularly appear in any lists of the best golf holes in the world, the 16th being the signature hole of the course. One of the most legendary tee shots in the world, a big tee shot is required to carry over the ocean below to a peninsular green surrounded by bunkers, rocks and indigenous plants. For players with a shorter game or the days when the ocean breeze is into the tee, a fairway to the left of the green is an alternative to the cool ocean. You are likely to remember this experience for some time. This is a private course, so best to buddy up with a famous member or get your game so good that someone feels the need to invite you to play here. You won’t be disappointed.
