Billed as the leading amusement park in Egypt and the Middle East, DreamPark is the largest theme park in Cairo. Established in 1999, the park sprawls over 607,028 square metres (150 acres), with three distinct areas.
DreamPark offers the various types of attractions theme park enthusiasts have come to expect. There are the thrill rides, including a roller coaster, the water rides designed to cool visitors down, and the leisurely rides suitable for kids or whole families.
The Discovery ride is a large rotating disc, capable of seating a larger number of visitors, which swings back and forth. Guests can experience the exhilaration without too much intensity.
The children’s area offers rides as well as a simulator theatre. A train encircles the entire park, which is certainly convenient for getting around. There is a concert area as well as two fine theatres. One is the previously mentioned children’s theatre, while the other is styled in the Roman fashion. Over 20,000 people can be accommodated daily and there are over 20 rides. Of course, as with any theme park, there are also souvenir shops, as well as a large number of eateries.
DreamPark’s opening times are, in winter, from 10am to 7pm and on Fridays and feast days, from 10am to 9 pm. In summer it is open from 4pm to midnight and, on Fridays and feast days, from 12 noon to midnight. It is open throughout Ramadan from 9pm to 2am.
