Dunia Fantasi

Jakarta, Indonesia

Dunia Fantasi, meaning ‘fantasy land’ in Bahasa, is an amusement park located on the waterfront in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is divided into eight areas named after geographical locations: Jakarta, Indonesia, Asia, Africa, America, Europe and Fantasi Hikayat (Legendary Fantasy), the latter of which features ancient Egyptian and Greek architecture.

Not a small park, Dunia Fantasi consists of over 30 attractions. One of the most popular is the Halilintar roller coaster. Built in 1987, this sit-down, steel coaster takes riders through a loop and a double corkscrew. For those who enjoy less intense rides, the Alap Alap, a gentler ride which can accommodate up to 1,000 people per hour, is probably more for you.

Of course, Dunia Fantasi has much more to offer than the two roller coasters. In fact, new rides have been opening with great frequency, including the Tornado and the Kicir-Kicir (Power Surge). The Istana Boneka has been compared to Disney’s famous ride, It’s a Small World, but with more of a local flair.

If guests find themselves getting a little too hot, going down the Niagara log flumes is a popular way of cooling down.

Seasonal shows include a Euro Kids Circus, a Russian Circus and a cabaret show entitled Le Belles.
