Family Kingdom is a seaside amusement park located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It has two sides which are located across a boulevard from one another. One of these sides, the side closest to the Atlantic Ocean, is a water park.
The water park features speed slides, water flumes and a lazy river, as well as a delightful children’s area. For those seeking a milder, but still thrilling, rush of adrenaline, there are some ‘intermediate’ speed slides available. The lazy river itself is over 130 metres (425 feet) long and features some beautiful waterfalls. The kiddies’ area even has eight slides of its own!
On the amusement park side, there are a number of rides suitable for all ages. From atop either the ferris wheel or the Swamp Fox, Family Kingdom’s classic wooden roller coaster, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the ocean waves. The Pistolero Round-up is also a hit with riders of all ages. From the barrel you ride in, you get to shoot your laser gun at targets in the wild west saloon that you ride through.
