Fantasilandia

Santiago, Chile

Fantasilandia is a Chilean amusement park that categorises its rides as “thrilling, gentle and childish”. One of the rides in the ‘thrilling’ category is the Boomerang roller coaster. A ‘boomerang,’ in this case, is a popular roller coaster design. As your train leaves its station, it is pulled backwards up the first hill and then descends quickly before barrelling through a cobra roll and a vertical loop. It then ascends the final hill before doing all of that again … backwards. There is also a Kamikaze ride in this park, which is a pendulum-based ride that turns riders upside down several times.

Another type of thrill ride represented in Fantasilandia is called a top spin. Another popular design, this ride can best be described as a giant metal sofa suspended between two arms. These arms rotate and, simultaneously, the sofa rotates between them. There are usually also water cannons nearby which spray passengers as all of this is going on.

Among the milder attractions in the park is a 3D show, together with other traditional amusement park rides.
