Hanna Highway

Maui, Hawaii, United States of America

Visitors to the island of Maui in Hawaii love to take the 60 mile Hanna Highway, as it is a great way to see most of Maui’s most spectacular scenery. You can even buy a CD that gives you a guided tour as you drive. The highway really is a one lane road cutting at times into the hill side with views down to the crashing surf below. It is a very long drive and you might consider staying overnight half way through the trip. Also you might want to pack a cooler with a picnic so that you can really take advantage of seeing Wai’anapana State Park, hiking it and swimming in its natural pools. Highlights: the black sand beach at Hana, the waterfalls, the ocean views, the great little banana bread stands along the way, the hikes through lush jungle, and the Seven Sacred Pools.
