Heide Park is one of the most popular amusement parks in Germany. One of the rides that really draws the crowds here is a wooden roller coaster, the second tallest in the world, that many enthusiasts consider the best of its kind. It is called Colossos and was the first prefabricated wooden roller coaster built in the world. The ‘new’ construction technique resulted in a wooden coaster that rides as smoothly as steel one. Although most people like the steel roller coasters, there is still the occasional rider who prefers that traditional wooden feel. It is quicker for the park to get it up, too!
Heide Park also features its fair share of live shows, the range of which is sure to appeal to any audience. Two of these shows are pirate-themed. One of them is called the Gold Of Port Royal, which features great acting, hysterical comedy, stage illusions and other types of special effects. The other pirate show is called Anger of Mayas, which boasts some spectacular magic as the cast attempts to prevent an impending apocalypse.
