Islands of Adventure is the second theme park built by Universal in Orlando. It focuses heavily on the characters from Marvel Comics and features a more traditional, ‘thrill park’ atmosphere than its older counterpart. One of the thrills you will experience in this place is the Jurassic Park River Adventure. It is a boat ride through various dinosaur exhibits, much like the plot of the movie, in which riders get bumped off course into a restricted area of the park. Be forewarned. You will get wet on this ride, and scared!
When it comes to live entertainment, another big draw to this park is a stunt show called the Eighth Voyage of Sinbad. The premise of the show is that Sinbad and his sidekick are attempting to rescue Princess Amoura. The open-air theatre is filled with aerial stunts and pyrotechnics sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. At the end, one of the cast members is actually set on fire, after which they dive into a watery pit!
