Shanghai, China
Once you see the aerial photographs of the views from the top of this pencil thin tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in China, you are going to want to visit it! Amazing is the only way to describe it.
And when you find out that you can book a room there at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai, well, where else would you stay?! The hotel alone is a touring destination, with one of the tallest interior atriums and some of the highest floors of hotel rooms in the world.
When you visit, take the elevator up to the highest Observation Deck in China. If you visit in the evening, you may want to consider having dinner at one of the tower’s restaurants (book a window table) before ascending again up towards the sky. From the Observation Deck, you can feel your stomach plunge when you look down through the glass floor to the lobby of the hotel many stories below. If you would prefer to linger and enjoy the view in the evening, visit the Cloud9 bar on the 87th floor for simply stunning views. And remember, since this is a very popular attraction in Shanghai, the lines can get long to gain access, so allow for extra time if you want to enjoy your visit.
