Justice Palace

Brussels, Belgium

User Rating     : 4 out of 5

Those who are interested in beautiful architecture will marvel at the Justice Palace in Brussels. The grand scale and meticulous attention to detail throughout this historic building is stunning.  I visited as renovations and restorations were taking place, as much of the palace could use a facelift. Still one cannot help but see the beauty in the imperfection here as the palace retains its one of a kind old world charm, bringing tourists in huge numbers each year to pose for photos on its grand staircases. You cannot help but feel irrelevant in the massive open indoor spaces.

Be sure to check ahead and see if renovations are underway causing closures of all or part of the palace.  Don’t forget your camera as well as this is a wonderful place to capture the historic architecture on a grand scale, which makes this location so popular

Larger than St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome and bearing some resemblance to the railway station in Milan, the Palace of Justice in Brussels is a very grand building. I was quite surprised that there wasn’t more green space around it, but I suppose they wanted to build it as large as they possibly could.
