King’s Island, in Mason, Ohio, is the most visited seasonally-operating theme park in the United States.
In addition to a plethora of thrill, family and water rides, one of the more unique attractions at King’s Island is called Dinosaurs Alive. It is the world’s biggest animatronic dinosaur park and is divided into six main scenes. These scenes are all based on findings from actual fossil sites. For example, in one of them, a flash flood is re-enacted, which is believed to have killed a group of dinosaurs whose fossils were found in Alberta, Canada. This attraction requires an additional fee, but is well worth it.
One of the most popular rides at King’s Island is the Backlot Stunt Coaster, located in the Coney Mall section of the park. This ride allows you to experience driving a stunt car in a movie. As your car zooms onto the track, you are transported into a chase sequence that includes tunnels, gunfire, explosions, near collisions, a parking garage and a race down a set of stairs!
