Lincoln Memorial

Washington DC, United States of America

User Rating     : 5 out of 5

Probably the most famous statue in America, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. has a monumental 19 foot high statue of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th American president. When you visit the statue, look to either side as the two most famous speeches Lincoln gave are etched into stone. Stand at the top of the steps and look ahead. This was where Martin Luther King gave his famous “I have a dream” speech as he gazed out at millions of listeners. Ahead of you will stretch the long reflecting pool, which at night is lovely to visit as well. The Capital building is in the distance. The Lincoln Memorial is one of the most popular destinations in Washington D.C. and is very close to the Washington Monument, so you can easily visit both on the same day.
