User Rating     : 5 out of 5

Plan to give yourself at least two hours to visit one of the most venerable and highly regarded museums in the world, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It is massive and in addition to its permanent galleries which span everything from ancient art to modern art, there are show-stopping temporary exhibits. A good plan of attack is to rent one of the self-guided audio tours so that you have full freedom to stop and start as you wish. You may want to stop and grab lunch or a coffee at any one of the four restaurants. You also may want to shop in the really interesting gift shop. Or take one of the group guided tours, so that you can ask questions if you want to! A secret gem and little known fact about the museum is that is has a Roof Garden Cafe and Martini Bar open in the warmer months that offers an amazing view over New York City. Try it at sunset!
