Muskegon, Michigan, United States of America
Michigan’s Adventure is located about half way between Muskegon and White Hall in Michigan, United States of America and is the largest theme park in that state. There are seven roller coasters in this park, one of them being called Shivering Timbers; one of the longest wooden roller coasters in the world. The first hill is over 36.5 metres (120 feet) tall and the coaster’s top speed exceeds 88 kmph (55 mph). Somewhat unique in the world of wooden roller coasters, this ride is designed with the goal in mind of causing riders to experience both injection air time and lateral G-force.
Another roller coaster in this park is the Thunderhawk, an inverted looping roller coaster. While many roller coasters indicate a minimum height requirement for riders, Thunderhawk indicates a maximum height of just over two metres (six feet, eight inches) requirement too. Another unique feature is that riders are given the option of purchasing a DVD of their full ride experience. What an experience it is, too! There are more twists and turns in this track than most other inverted looping coasters.
