Mie Prefecture, Japan
Nagashima Spa Land is a theme park in Japan’s Mie prefecture that also features a water park.
One of the roller coasters here is called the Looping Star. For a coaster with inversions, this one is notable because it only holds riders in its train with one lap bar. This is possible largely because it also holds riders in with the G-force generated by the inversions themselves.
The Steel Dragon 2000 is another roller coaster here. It is the current world record holder for longest track length, at 2,479 metres (8,133′ 2″ exactly). It has no inversions.
Another ride her is called the Bobkart. It is exactly what it sounds like, which is a cross between a bobsled and a go-kart. You are actually in control of the speed of the ride via a lever on the side of your vehicle, which is reminiscent of an alpine slide.
One criticism of Japanese theme parks in general has been that they tend to get people onto and off of rides rather slowly. This park does a good job of avoiding that, and most people say the food is very good, too.
