New York Stock Exchange

New York City, United States of America

User Rating     : 2 out of 5

Although you can not go inside to visit the New York Stock Exchange anymore, it really is worth walking by to take a look. Begun in 1792 when 24 stockbrokers signed an agreement to organize their activity, the stock exchange has grown to what is arguably the most influential financial institution in the world. Today the exchange is housed in an impressive pillared Beaux Arts style building. If you are there and see people hanging out wearing different colored jackets, you are seeing the traders taking a break from trading on the floor of the exchange. 11 Wall Street New York, New York 10005

We didn't do the tour or anything, but it was pretty cool to walk by and see. I only rated it a 2 beacuse it wasn't near as impressive as the many other sites & museums we saw on our visit to NYC. Wall Street was neat to walk down, but the tour of the NYSE didn't seem to appealing to us.
