Pantheon

Rome, Italy

User Rating     : 4 out of 5

The Pantheon in Rome is a hugely popular attraction and yes the lines will be long, the tours crowded. This however will not take away from this amazing attraction that is a staple of ancient roman life. This attraction is easy to get to and centrally located. Booking tours in advance with a knowledgeable guide company is recommended to enjoy the best experience possible. This ancient structure is quite stunning upon entry.

To learn the history and think about how long this structure has stood, generation after generation intent on keeping it preserved throughout time, it is amazing. Nearing 2 centuries old, the structure is still in remarkable condition considering the age, a testament to the Roman construction methods as well as the generations who have maintained this structure so well. I have to say it, When in Rome, The Pantheon is a must see and will stir up images in your mind of a time long ago and the lives that were once lived in and around this great monument of the past.

  1. Marvelous Architecture and Engineering! 4 out of 5

Although I think it lacks the raw atmosphere of the Collosseum, Rome's Pantheon is still worthy of the time it will take to get into this 1st century building. The final resting place of Vittorio Emanuele II, united Italy's first king, is a refined example of roman culture and a testiment to its great engineering feats. Consider a weekend break, or off-season mini-break to avoid the summer holiday crush!
