Phantasialand

Bruhl, Germany

Germany’s Phantasialand started as more of a family-oriented theme park, but, in recent years, it has begun to add thrill rides to its line-up of attractions. Among those thrill rides is a roller coaster called Colorado Adventure. The ride runs through some of the man-made mountains in the park’s Wild West section and was officially opened by pop star, Michael Jackson, whose name adorns it. Local residents have since complained about the noise it generates, resulting in the park’s decision to retro-fit it with noise dampening tunnels.

Another thrill ride here is called the Black Mamba, which is an inverted roller coaster.

There is also a five-star hotel, called Hotel Ling Bao on the site of this amusement park. As you can probably tell from its name, this hotel has a Chinese theme. In fact, the building’s roof tiles were even imported from China! What is more, every room’s door was engraved by hand. The hotel has two restaurants, with one of them being well known for the stellar quality of its Euro-Asiatic cuisine. The hotel has its own entrance to the park, too!
