Portmeirion, Wales, United Kingdom

Portmeirion in Wales is a little tourist village that is a little odd, but filled with charm and a lot of fun to visit. Today it is a hotel that is run by the Charitable Trust, and you can also visit as a day tripper. The village was built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, modelled after an Italian village between 1925 and 1975 and has been used as the back drop of several movies and television shows as well as music video clips.

Portmeirion is one of Wales’ best known tourist attractions these days and wandering through the village and the exotic gardens provides a great day out for people of all ages.
