Portobello Road Markets

London, England, United Kingdom

The Portobello Road Markets are probably one of the world’s most famous outdoor markets and it is a popular shopping destination for local Londoners and visitors too. The markets stretch a good couple of miles up Portobello Road through London’s Notting Hill. The markets are now so large, that they are divided into different sections featuring fresh produce, antiques and fashion.

Although some of the vendors are present throughout the week, it is on Saturdays that you get to see the full force of the market with everyone turning up to sell or buy. If you are in the mood for a bit of shopping with some real London charm, then this is the place to head. You can get yourself some street food and wander along the street happily browsing the nick nacks – a perfect lazy London Saturday excursion. There are two underground stations that are close to the markets – Notting Hill Gate and Ladbroke Grove.
