Queensland Museum

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Queensland Museum and the Queensland Museum SouthBank both cover a wide range of exhibitions. There are many temporary exhibitions as well as the very popular permanent exhibitions which include the National Carriage Gallery featuring wagons, carts and drays, buggies, Cobb & Co Coaches and omnibuses. There are also earth, body and science exhibitions as well as the Shipwrecks Adventure and Pandora Gallery. The Queensland Museum at Southbank exhibits are more Queensland in nature and reflect our distant and not too distant past. The museum zoo and exhibit called “The Courage of Ordinary Men – Three Stories of the Victoria Cross” are especially popular. Other exhibits include local, state and nationally important collections, fossils and heritage items. Naturally dinosaurs get the seal of approval from most especially the children. The temporary displays obviously come and go but are always exciting to see. Getting to the museum is and easy walk from the CBD of Brisbane or by bus or train from Central.
