Rainbows End

Auckland, North Island, New Zealand

New Zealand’s premiere theme park, Rainbow’s End has been open since 1982 and has recently extended its lease for 24 years. It is located in Auckland and features 15 attractions.

The main attraction at New Zealand’s largest theme park is its Corkscrew Coaster, the only one in the entire country. This steel coaster, standing at a height of 27.5 metres (90 feet), features not only a corkscrew, but also three inversions and a vertical loop.

In December 2009, Rainbow’s End opened the Invader, a spinning ride in which passengers are in a large spinning disc that uses gravity to propel itself along an 80 metre (262 feet) track.

Guests can experience the thrills of spinning both vertically and horizontally on the Power Surge, another of the Rainbow’s End thrill rides.

Then there is the popular Enchanted Forest log flumes, taking riders on two minor drops and one larger fall. Riders should, of course, be prepared to get wet!

Of course, those prone to motion sickness might steer clear of these rides. With other, more family oriented rides, such as Castle Land, Pirate Ship, dodgems, karts and bumper boats for the kids, Rainbow’s End has something for everyone.
