Roman Forum

Rome, Italy

User Rating     : 5 out of 5

The Roman Forum is the towering structure that once served as the center of the worlds control for one of the most powerful empires to ever exist. The reach of the Roman Empire and the riches it held were unfathomable. The grand columns and rise high above in all directions and what still stands shows visitors that this was a fitting center to this huge empire.

The attractions here are extensive and for those interested in monuments and history, you may feel like a kid in a candy store. Guided tours here are a must as there is so much to see and learn that having a good tour guide is a necessity to enjoying all that this attraction has to offer. To stand in this place, so rich in history and so influential in the development of society is a sight that you simply cannot afford to miss when touring Rome.

Walking around the Forum is a lot less smelly than it must have been back in Roman times, but no doubt just as busy. Imagine the other tourists as the plebeians going about their business; you can almost see Gaius Julius Caesar and his senators parading on their way to the Theatre of Pomey. It’s a cliché but history really comes to life here.
