Bogota, Colombia
Salitre Magico is an amusement park found in Bogotá, Columbia. The park currently offers 30 rides. Fifteen of these rides are for children, while five are considered family rides and 10 are high impact rides. Perhaps the most renowned of Salitre Magico’s rides is the Castle of Terror. There are four scenes here designed to scare each and every passenger.
Another important ride is the Millenium, which is a ferris wheel. This wheel has 40 buckets, each capable of carrying four people.
The Banba, or double loop, roller coaster is another hit attraction at Salitre Magico. Made of steel, it has the distinction of being the only coaster in Latin America with double loops. It also reaches speeds of 145 kmph (90 mph), making it the fastest in South America. The Bank of Bogota developed this attraction and the ride cars bear its insignia and colours. There is also a corkscrew roller coaster, which offers a thrilling experience to riders.
Of course, the Salitre Magico has something for everyone. Originally open to the public under a different name in 1976, after closing for a brief time for remodelling, Salitre Magico re-opened in 2000.
