Santa’s Land is a Christmas-themed amusement park in Cherokee, North Carolina. The rides here are mostly for children, but there is still plenty to interest visitors of all ages. The premise of the park, which is only open during the year’s warmer months, is that Santa and his elves spend that time of year here, in their ‘home away from home’.
As you can imagine, the decorations throughout the park are quite whimsical, recreating the kind of scenery you would expect to find at the North Pole, but without the snow, of course. For example, all of the ride attendants, food service employees and other park staff wear elf costumes and children can have their pictures taken with the big, bearded, man, Santa, himself.
In addition to the kiddies’ rides at Santa’s Land, the park features something called the Rudy Coaster, which adults can ride with their children. Although a legitimate roller coaster, this ride is not so scary that young guests cannot still enjoy it. It is more of a ‘wild mouse’ type attraction.
There is a live magic show to enjoy here, as well as several live animal exhibits.
