Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, is a true standout, even with the company’s already high standard of theme parks. It features both a water park section and an optional Wild Safari, which is billed as the largest drive-through safari outside of Africa.
The real draw here, though, is the Kingda Ka, the tallest, fastest roller coaster in the world, ascending to heights of more than 122 metres (400 feet) and reaching top speeds of over 193 kmph (120 mph). If you want to ride this one with very little waiting time, you might want to consider purchasing an optional Flash Pass, which can reduce your wait to as little as 10 minutes.
Amongst the more unusual entertainment options (for this type of park) offered at Six Flags Great Adventure is a sea-park-style dolphin show called Dolphin Discovery. For an extra charge, park guests can get up close and personal with these creatures, assisting with their training.
There are more traditional, dance-driven and kid friendly shows offered as well, plus, for less intrepid riders, there are some family-friendly options.
