Six Flags Great America, located in the state of Illinois, is the most heavily attended theme park in the entire Midwest.
Hurricane Harbor water park, though separately gated, is immediately adjacent. The Iron Wolf is one of the most popular thrill rides in the park. At the time of its debut, it was the tallest, fastest, stand-up, looping roller coaster in the world. The ride is two minutes long and it features a 27.5 metre (90 feet) drop together with a 360 degree, vertical loop at speeds in excess of 88 kmph (55 mph).
Six Flags Great America is not all thrill rides; there are plenty of gentler, family-friendly experiences, too. There are also some great live entertainment options. Great America Idol mimics the popular, similarly-named television show, inviting guests to sing and dance to all their favourite tunes.
Screams And Dreams is a particularly unique show, which takes a look at what it takes to build a theme park from scratch. Naturally, this show is a big hit with theme park enthusiasts.
