Six Flags Over Texas was the the first park opened by this well established company. It made its debut in 1961, and is located in the city of Arlington. Six Flags parks, including this one, are recognised and respected as providing a standard in the industry. Anyone familiar with these parks knows that, even though they do have shows, dining and shopping options in spades, it is the rides that are the big draw here.
One of the rides here is called Flashback. This is steel roller coaster with three consecutive loops, each over 30 metres (100 feet) high. Then it does it again backwards!
Another ride here is called La Vibora, which translates to the viper. It is rather unique amongst theme park rides in that it simulates a bobsled.
By way of options for live entertainment, there are two ‘can’t miss’ live shows in this park. The first is Dick Clark’s Face the Music. Actually a live, interactive game show, this experience will really test your musical knowledge.
Also featured is the Wild West Revue. This show brings vaudeville back to the stage.
