SteamRanger Heritage Railway

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

SteamRanger Heritage Railway run various steam and diesel hauled trains between Mount Barker in the Mount Lofty Ranges and Victor Harbour and is run by the South Australia Division of the Australian Railway Historical Society. There are several different trains running different trips such as the Cockle Train which operates between Goolwa and Victor Harbour. This route was Australia’s first railway. Then there is the Southern Encounter running from Mount barker to Victor Harbour. Of course there are much shorter journeys available, some running only seasonally. The trains are all run by volunteers who also look after all maintenance of the trains and the railway lines. Buy a ticket and hop onboard for an historical ride. I did and loved it! Bookings are advisable and checking seasonal rides is best to avoid disappointment.
