Story Land in Glen, New Hampshire, started with just one ride based on storybook dolls, hence the name. Since then, it has grown into a fully fledged amusement park that becomes more popular every year. Granted, you are not going to encounter any harrowing thrills here, but many families love it for precisely that reason.
What you will encounter are such perennial favourites as bumper cars, log flumes, a raft ride and a carousel, all whimsically themed. Of particular note is the Story Land Queen. It is a gorgeous, roomy passenger boat that will ferry you to Butterfly Island, an enchanting cruise, to be sure.
Performing three times a day under the big top in Story Land is the Royal Hanneford Circus. If you love the circus, all of your favourites will be there, including tigers, elephants, acrobats and clowns galore. It is enough to bring out the kid in anyone!
Blake Daring’s Storybook Adventures, Molly Molecule and Farm Follies are other not-to-be-missed shows at Story Land. They are great for kids, but the rest of the family will enjoy them too.
