Tivoli Gardens

Copenhagen, Denmark

Tivoli Gardens, which is located in Copenhagen, Denmark, was once visited by Walter Elias Disney. It is widely believed that this park served as one of his primary inspirations for the overall design of Disneyland.

Still in operation today, this park is one of the most popular in all of Europe and its most favoured attraction, plausibly, is the Vertigo. This white-knuckle, thrill ride gives guests the opportunity to become the pilot of their own ride vehicle, which rotates on the end of a very long tower that is also rotating. This is a very fast, very tall ride.

The Tivoli Concert Hall is also located on the premises. This hall was designed and built by Hansen and Schlegel. It was recently refurbished and it now presents a series of concerts that run the gamut from classical to rock and roll. In the same building you will find the largest, salt water aquarium in Denmark, which houses more than 1,600 specimens. There is a separate charge to enter the aquarium, but it is well worth it.
