Torres Del Paine Walks

Torres Del Paine National Park, Chile

The Torres Del Paine in Chile is a spectacular region of granite towers and peaks set amongst glaciers, lakes and forests, and one of the best walking areas in the world. Located 4000 km from Santiago the Torres Del Paine is probably the most famous national park in South America and located in Patagonia. The region is impassable by road and only accessible by sea or air.

There are a wide variety of walks to choose fro ranging from easy strolls to major treks. The W Route is the most popular in the Torres Del Paine and takes around 5 days to complete. This usually commences at Laguna Amarga and reaches the famous cordillera usually on the first day. The trek continues to the Valle del Frances and onwards to Cerro Paine Grande, the region’s highest mountain.

There are stunning lakes and the imposing Glacier Grey. An alternative route is the Macizo Paine which rakes in some of the sights on Route W. There are a number of shelters and campsites in the park for people on the long distance treks in one of South America’s most beautiful and atmospheric places.
