Universal Studios Hollywood, like its central Florida sister park, features rides and shows based on movies and television shows owned by the NBC Universal family of companies.
One TV show that has been transformed into a popular ride at this park is the Simpsons. The ride is a virtual roller coaster making it quite different from many more traditional theme park experiences. Interestingly, the character voices in the ride were rendered by the same actors that worked on the show itself. Also, the ride conserves energy by making use of on-demand hydraulics and led lighting. It’s fun, too!
As far as shows go, one of the most popular ones here is called Shrek 4D. Starring the cast of the Shrek animated feature, this show transcends the typical 3D experience by incorporating animatronic elements into the theatre itself. Your seat moves and you are occasionally blasted by bursts of air and squirted with water. All of this works together to create tons of madcap zaniness that will not be forgotten soon.
