Vidám Park is located in Budapest, Hungary. Open since 1950, this smaller amusement park is done in the style of the older boardwalk, midway parks of the United States. Guests purchase armbands to be able to ride the attractions.
The Tower is a free-fall ride, which takes guests up to 37 metres (121 feet) high. The drop reaches 4Gs, so be prepared for a thrill!
For those interested in thrills, Vidám Park features a wooden roller coaster which dates back to 1922! This is one of Europe’s oldest rides. With a duration of five minutes, visitors climb up to 17 metres (56 feet) high and reach a maximum speed of 40 kmph (25 mph).
One other must-see attractions at Vidám Park is the merry-go-round, Körhinta. This ride was constructed almost 100 years ago. It is made almost entirely out of wood and it has recently been restored to its original grandeur. Authentic Würlitzer music plays while the horses to go up and down.
Another attraction of note is the Ikarus, which spins its riders around at about 30 kmph (18 mph). Riders will also be transported to heights of 30 metres (98 feet) whilst spinning, so be prepared for some adrenaline!
