This museum celebrates women and in particular the role of Vietamese women in this society. The displays at the Women’s Museum are compelling and many are heart warming. The majority of the displays relate to the role of women, particularly during conflict. On the 4th floor there’s a wonderful selection of the costumes of ethnic minorities. Take your time to look at the artefacts and photographs. The building is old and was quite run down when I went there. It’s centrally located. I really rate this museum as, having been bought up in the West, we weren’t exposed to stories from Vietnam. This restores just a little of the balance. It will be of interest to both sexes. It might be worthwhile to get a guide to explain some of the displays. It costs a few dollars to enter and you must check your bag.
