Brisbane International Airport

Brisbane International Airport

The Brisbane Airport is a passenger airport that serves the area of Brisbane. It is recognized as one of the busiest airports in the country and is the primary hub for Jetstar Airways, Qantas, Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue. There are two passenger terminals; a domestic terminal and an international terminal.

Access to the airport can be made via car, railway or inter-terminal bus. The Brisbane Airport is situated 17 kilometres from the Central Business District and offers four car-parks that operate 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Multi-level and undercover car-parks are provided for those participating in international flights. Long term services are provided for domestic flight travellers.

Passenger services at the Brisbane Airport include car rental stations, hotel and motel booking boards, shops and boutiques and a large number of restaurants. Food courts are scattered throughout the airport and provide anything from coffee and bagels to full seafood dinners. Souvenir shops with duty free staples are available to visitors and help pass the time between flights and boarding.

First class lounges are available in the international terminal. The Emirates Airline first class lounge is the first of its kind outside of Dubai. Baggage operations are located on the first floor.

Car parks at the airport are expensive and many people choose to park in one of the many off airport car parks that provide a fast pick up and drop off service.

Brisbane Airtrain

The Brisbane Airtrain connects the domestic and international airport terminals, plus it runs to Brisbane City and suburban stations, continuing down to the Gold Coast. Services run every 30 minutes from approximately 5am in the morning until 8pm, every day. The journey between the airport and Central Station takes about 20 minutes. The go card works on the Airtrain and a useful bonus is that kids travel free.

DFO Shopping

There is a free bus between the Brisbane international airport and the DFO that runs every 20 minutes between 6.30am and 6.30pm.
