Cairns travel

Cairns Australia is in Tropical North Queensland, Australia.

There are many Cairns tours and you might start by testing your horseback skills with a ride through the spectacular and rugged Falls Gorge. Expert horse handlers will ensure you are matched to the right horse, and be prepared to clock some serious hours in the saddle!

Don’t miss the creepy crawlies on display at the Australian Venom Zoo! Once you’ve picked up all your souvenirs and had a bite to eat at the local pub, hop aboard the Kuranda Train and head back down the mountain. The scenic train ride winds its way precariously around the mountain cliffs, over bridges and through tunnels, past stunning waterfalls and sheer drops. Adrenalin junkies rejoice! White water rafting on the Tully River offers the rush of some of the best rapids in Australia.

Cairns rainforest

Led by expert guides through the remote wilderness of the world heritage rainforest, not only will you experience a harrowing series of Grade 4 rapids, but you can stop and swim at isolated watering holes, hurl yourself from rope swings into the deeper waters, and slide over mini waterfalls bareback! Revive yourself with a picnic lunch before you tackle the second half of the river and the bus ride home.

Cairns Great Barrier Reef diving

In Cairns play a game of golf, go fishing, get out and experience the world of scuba diving on a world heritage reef. Visit the tablelands and the famous Kuranda, home to the artists and eco warriors of the area. Finding Cairns Accommodation, such as 5 star luxury hotels with private beaches or affordably priced hotel rooms, is easy with Expedia.

A 15 minute helicopter ride will take you to the tiny coral cay of Green Island. Approximately 1 ½ km around, Green Island houses a small resort but is primarily made up of a mini rainforest surround by golden sands. Once you land, get your snorkel gear on and explore the coast line – sea turtles are frequent visitors and easy to spot in the crystal clear waters surrounding the cay. Take a dip in the pool at the resort, visit the crocodile farm or explore further out to sea in the resort’s glass bottomed boat. At the end of the day, climb onto the high speed catamaran to take you smoothly back to Cairns.

Cairns Travel

The most relaxing adventure ever! Drift lazily down the Mulgrave River, admiring the scenery and interrupted only occasionally as you bump over the mini-rapids. The two hour ride is so smooth, you can bring your own morning tea to munch on as you float along!

The lava tubes at Undara are some of the longest in the world. Tour the park exploring these lava tubes and their volcanic craters, head underground and explore the rock formations and geologic features of Volcano Valley, or hike through the extensive trails through savannah woodlands to scenic lookouts with views of the whole park. Keep an eye out on your travels for gemstones – minerals historically found in the park include moonstone, topaz, garnet, quartz – even gold!
