Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall is more than stopping at just shops, the Mall contains a plethora of other activities too, all combining to make this a very fun attraction!

Opened in November 2008, the Dubai Mall became the world’s largest shopping mall with 12.1 million feet of retail space. Within this there are 1200 stores divided into mini malls according to type. These include the world’s largest gold Souk, a fashion area, a kid’s zone and more, and whilst the stores are enough to keep visitors occupied for days, Dubai Mall also has a huge number of other attractions too…

SEGA Republic is an indoor theme park dedicated to the SEGA company (opening in 2009).

The Dubai Ice Rink is an Olympic sized ice rink which can accommodate 2000 guests at a time and doubles as a multi-functional hall.

Dubai Aquarium and Discovery Centre features the world’s largest viewing panel allowing visitors to view the 33,000 marine occupants, plus there’s a walkthrough tunnel. The Discovery Centre takes visitors through Rainforests, Living Ocean and Rocky Shore environments.

Also, taking it to the extreme there is a 22 screen cinema here and 120 restaurants and cafe’s.

The Dubai Mall is an integral part of the Burj Dubai skyscraper project. Although not yet finished, the Burj Dubai has already surpassed all of the world’s tallest buildings and is due for completion in 2009 when it will stand 818 metres (2,684 feet) high. Visitors to Dubai Mall will soon to be able to enjoy ‘Experience 124’, a visit to the 124 th floor of Burj Dubai.

Visitors to Dubai can enter via Dubai International Airport, the home of Dubai ‘s national airline, Emirates. This is a short journey from the city and will be accessible by metro once completed in 2009.
