Everland attracts around 7.5 million visitors per year, which goes to show that this a popular tourist destination!

Everland is not a new offering in the world of theme parks as it was opened in 1976 though under a different name-Ja Yeon Nong Won, and although the majority of visitors to the park are from Asia, Everland is now making a name for itself with Western visitors too.

Everland has been compared to Disneyland because it has many of the same or similar elements. It is divided into zones which have different themes and attractions which, in addition to rides, include a zoo and an extra entry fee water park.

The Global Fair zone has similarities to Disney’s Main Street, USA, giving visitors the chance to buy food and drinks and souvenirs on their way into the park. The European Adventure includes European styled buildings and restaurants and the main attraction here is the Mystery Mansion. Meanwhile the American Adventure zone features several of the park’s thrill rides and is presented to look like America through different periods in history.

Magic Land is another of the zones which has rides, as well as a giant Ferris wheel which gives visitors great views of the whole park. Then there’s the Everland Speedway. This is a real racing track (the first one in South Korea) where visitors can actually race real cars!

The Zoo-Topia zone is where the animals are contained. Attractions include animal shows, a petting zoo and a safari bus ride. But there’s also a wet water raft ride called Amazon Express and a small traditional zoo which has sea lions, polar bears, tigers, penguins and more.

Everland is situated in the city of Yongin in Gyeonggi province, South Korea. It is south of the country’s capital city, Seoul, and can be easily reached by direct bus which should take less than an hour.
