One Week Cruise

One Week Cruise

Cruises can be very expensive. At first you will be lured by the ‘low price’ of the rooms and then you will be given an onboard credit which will all seem good to you. But as soon as the ship sails you will need to take care of other expenses such as expensive drinks, the price of food in the restaurants and internet surfing charges which are sometimes as high as $1 per minute. Sometimes you end up paying so much money that you could have spent a month in SE Asia. Let us have a look at some of the most popular cruises around the world and how the price varies by region.

It sails to hundreds of destinations across the world and passengers are expected to pay a minimum of $100 per person per night. The prices cover stay in the cruise, meals served in the Main Dining Room and a range of on-board activities like swimming and rock-climbing.

The rates offered by the Disney Cruise Line are slightly higher than other cruise lines but in return you get spacious cabins and a whole range of family entertainment for which you do not have to pay anything extra. A 7 night Western Caribbean cruise would cost around $160 per night per person. It departs from Port Canaveral (Florida) and some other locations too.

Carnival Cruises

The Caribbean Islands are very popular for cruises and Carnival Cruise is yet another cruise ship company that offers cruise holidays at very low cost. However, the rates do not cover the cost of beverages. Access to the swimming pools, the water parks and the mini-golf courses are included in the fares. A 7 night Western Caribbean would only cost around $77 per night per person. The ships depart from New Orleans in Louisiana.

The ships operated by the Princess Cruises were built keeping the adult travelers in mind. The fares cover lodging, dining, photography workshops and cookery lessons. They have an 8 night cruise covering Ireland, Scotland & Wales which leaves from Dover in London. The fares start from $162 per person per night.

It is a relatively new cruise company but is known for providing affordable trips to destinations across the world. Unlike the other companies, this cruise line does not enforce any rules such as dress codes and pre-assigned meal times. There are several dining places across the fleet and it is possible to have food for as low as $15 per person. A 7 night Western Mediterranean cruise on ‘Norwegian Epic’ would only cost $77 – 133 per night per person.

The ships depart from ports in Hong Kong, Penang, Taiwan & Singapore. One can opt for a 7 night cruise on the Superstar Aquarius to experience new sights and sounds in the high seas. The cruise fares start from $1400 for the whole trip.
